As humans, we came into existence after delivery by our mothers. Everything we find around us was strange, we try to make sense of it. We try to open objects, fruits and ask so many questions to figure out the reason behind what we see, hear and touch.
Growing older and getting answers to some of our basic questions, we tend to eventually ask the questions related to our very existence:
“Why am I here?”
You see, we are actually not the first to ask this question. Every human being has this question and the burning desire to know the answer to this question. So let’s try to answer the question together:
To begin with, look around you. Unless you live in a cave, you are surrounded by things we humans have made with our own hands. Now, why did we make those things?
The answer, of course, is that we make things to perform some specific function for us. In short, we make things to serve us. So by extension, why did God make us, if not to serve Him?
God sums it beautifully when He said:
“And I did not create the jinn and mankind except to worship Me.”
Surah Adh dhariyat verse 56
This indicates to us that we are not meant to worship any human being, stick, stone, sculpture or Force but to worship our Creator, God Almighty – That is why we are here.
That is the authentic answer from the only One who made us – Our Creator Allah!
