One Of The Most Popular Qur’anic Verse
Every Friday, Muslims around the world including Nigeria attend the Friday Congregational prayer (Jumu’ah) where the imam delivers a heartfelt, reflective and instructive sermon. One of the ayah (verse) that is oft-repeated is a verse in the Noble Qur’an where our Creator, Allah, says:
إِنَّ اللَّهَ يَأْمُرُ بِالْعَدْلِ وَالْإِحْسَانِ وَإِيتَاءِ ذِي الْقُرْبَىٰ وَيَنْهَىٰ عَنِ الْفَحْشَاءِ وَالْمُنكَرِ وَالْبَغْيِ يَعِظُكُمْ لَعَلَّكُمْ تَذَكَّرُونَ
“Verily, Allah orders justice and good conduct and giving to relatives and He forbids immorality and bad conduct and oppression. He admonishes you that perhaps you will be reminded”
Surah An-Nahl Chapter 16 Verse 90
The beauty of this verse is that Allah mentions unequivocally that He orders:
- Good Conduct
- Giving to relatives
and He forbids:
- Bad Conduct and
This happens to be a reminder for the Muslims every Friday and a reminder to improve their lives daily. It is also a reminder for you, the creation of God Almighty.
