Clicks are more relevant in today’s world than ever before. We live, buy, share, sell by clicks on screen. We spend most of our days behind screens for various purposes, as the world has tied a nuptial cord of communication via various channels of social media. The social, business and government edifice is cemented around social media presence, to reach out, collaborate and corroborate all effort of human endeavours. From the trending, to the breaking news, the rumour, slander and truth.
Information about various aspect of individuals life are now collated on singular platform, which is also use to orchestrate feedback of discussions, advert to different individual needs. Details about our life is on the web for all to see or at best anyone who knows how to garner bits of information together.
The break in distance barrier and time for news circulation is one of the biggest gain of the social media, it soothes the heart that anyone in any part of the world could be seen, chatted just a button away. Just as event thousands of miles away can be checked into right from a screen in front of our fingers, knowledge from all the corners of the world is here for all to learn as well. As expected more development are still on the way to ease human relationships.
However, many people have put the tools of social media into malicious use, it has been used to blackmail, bully and ruin the life of others. It has also been used to spread rumours and vices to nooks and crannies of the world. There are findings that suggest that people develop bad habit likes self-harming from social media, others get depressed by comparing their life with that of their peers on social media, when in reality they are not sure of the standard of living of the peer. It is bad enough that social media has been made a rat race amidst teenagers and adults who try to show off their riches in a bid to impress others. Taking from the statement of the messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, Anas bin Malik reported:
The Messenger of Allah, , said, “If the son of Adam had a valley full of gold, he would want to have two valleys. Nothing fills his mouth but the dust of the grave, yet Allah will accept whoever repents to him.” Source: Ṣaḥīḥ al-Bukhārī 6075, Ṣaḥīḥ Muslim 1048.
Let the rain of understanding flood your mind with peace; know that not all the polished, edited and filtered images on social media is the direct translation of life people live. Everyone is battling a challenge and hope life gets easier on something. Like Billy Idol said “It doesn’t matter about money; having it, not having it. Or having clothes, or not having them. You’re still left alone with yourself in the end.”
Be you fall in with the trending or you blaze the trail, if you are not contented nothing can save you even if the world is in your pocket.
Our prophet Muhammad, peace and blessing be upon said;
Verily, this wealth is green and sweet, so whoever receives it with a cheerful heart will be blessed in it and whoever receives it with a greedy heart will not be blessed in it, for he would be like one who eats without being satisfied. The upper hand that gives is better than the lower hand that takes.

As much as we want to connect and share with the world the beauties of life in our lives, it is also important to know that there is the evil eye, which looks with contempt and disdain. There are those who will envy out of nothing. Most of all let us continue to share good and healing messages that will affect our lives and others positively. Let us rid our space off hate, maligning unverified speeches. We should remember that all our actions shall be judged by the one who created us.
Graves do not admire designers nor do they preserve them, so let spread light in the world before the dark home of the grave.
